v0.31.0Latest version

Classic UO landscapes, script recipes and ethereal mounts

Added

  • Save and reopen portable script recipes, and preview generated source and creation commands before saving.
  • Classic UO mountain edges with craggy rock faces, uneven ridges and separate bounded slope limits.
  • World overview Height, Slope and Shoreline / blends views, plus Terrain review with clickable inspection coordinates.

Improved

  • Raised terrain previews use square client terrain textures and optional TexTerr.def mappings, with artwork fallback when textures are absent.
  • Natural cave entrances use native black rock-mouth artwork and a clear dirt approach, with a trigger in front of the wall pieces.
  • Paths seek any reachable earlier clearing and avoid cutting diagonally through blocked shore corners.
  • The complete manual now has 71 pages covering the new controls.

Fixed

  • Sphere Rideable object mounts now mount directly from their backpack item and return that same item on dismount, without leaving a loose creature.
  • Generated mount helpers join related-content removal only when unchanged; external references and customized helpers remain protected.

471 unittests passed. Three sample exports and a full-size 7168 × 4096 terrain review passed. Connected-player Sphere checks cover mounting, dismounting, repeat clicks, denied mounting and cleanup. Custom shard hooks, death and restart still need shard-specific testing. Packaged startup remains unverified; source runtime, frozen archive and installer compilation were checked.

v0.30.1

Legacy UOP maps load correctly in Map Regions

Improved

  • Standard facet sizes are detected automatically, including 6144 × 4096 and 7168 × 4096 Britannia maps; custom maps retain manual dimensions.
  • Loaded dimensions are displayed above the terrain preview; the 68-page guide explains map loading.

Fixed

  • Corrected legacy UOP terrain chunk addressing, fixing the incorrect map-dimensions error for map0LegacyMUL.uop and other standard maps.
  • Accepted the standard optional trailing padding block while retaining checks for missing, truncated or mismatched terrain data.
  • Cancelling custom dimensions keeps the current preview and its coordinate scale unchanged.

450 unittests passed. All six standard client-map overviews and independent terrain samples were checked without changing the inputs. Packaged launch remains unverified; source runtime, GUI, frozen archive and installer compilation passed.

v0.30.0

A redesigned workspace and Sphere Map Regions

Added

  • Home task cards, permanent editor navigation and a searchable All tools page with 26 workflows.
  • Map Regions for Sphere: select, draw, move, add and remove AREADEF / ROOMDEF boundaries.
  • Guarded, safe, spell, recall, gate, teleport, PvP and other region-rule controls with reviewed script saves.
  • Appearance page with ten themes, Standard/Larger text and a panel-layout reset.

Improved

  • Editors remember optional Definitions and Script files panels; save and profile controls are grouped.
  • Tile imports now separate artwork previews from properties and animation; equipment stats use a compact layout.
  • The complete PDF and offline guide now cover 33 chapters across 68 pages.

Fixed

  • Restored and switched editor layouts keep useful panel widths on smaller windows.
  • Region saves preserve custom tags/events and encoding, with script conflicts checked before writes.

Map Regions targets Sphere only. Terrain is read-only; custom events, region ordering and final guard/travel behaviour require shard testing. Keep a covering world region and stop Sphere before saving. Packaged executable launch remains unverified; source runtime, GUI, frozen archive and installer compilation are checked.

v0.29.0

Static tile packs, ModernUO preview and better worlds

Added

  • Import static walls, floors and items from PNG/BMP folders or ZIPs, with optional subfolders, sorted previews and reviewed free-slot placement.
  • ModernUO preview script target for official 0.15.6.198, using native generated serialization and UOContent destinations.
  • Find area shortcuts for coast, forest, desert, snow, mountain, volcano and path previews.

Improved

  • Smoother biome boundaries and distance-aware river routing in generator version 2.
  • Tree spacing accounts for canopy size while keeping trunk and canopy pieces paired.
  • World exports report missing shoreline-art matches; the guide covers the new imports and target limits.

Fixed

  • Changed world settings now mark the preview outdated and require regeneration before export.
  • Non-dyeable C# armor no longer generates an unsupported Dye override.
  • Script workshop instructions and world summaries fit better in smaller windows.

ModernUO passed source and syntax checks; a full ModernUO build and shard testing remain required. Existing definition, sound-link, removal, house/deed and world entrance script workflows remain Sphere. Older world settings regenerate with the new rules; keep previous native exports for exact layouts.

v0.28.0

Sphere, RunUO and ServUO scripts

Added

  • Choose Sphere, official RunUO 2.x or ServUO pub57 when importing monsters, mounts, items, effects, clothing and weapons.
  • Choose one script target for a complete armor set, including whole-folder imports.
  • Generate scripts for artwork already installed through Workspace → Workshops → Generate server script.
  • C# templates include spellcasting, healing, taming, triggered effects, temporary summons, equipment bonuses and weapon hit effects.

Improved

  • Review the generated source, destination and GM creation command before saving. Check existing filenames and C# class names, including combined or restored queues.
  • Updated the complete guide to 65 pages with target-specific export instructions.

RunUO and ServUO both use C#, with separate templates for their APIs. Existing definition editing, sound-link editing, removal, house/deed and world entrance scripts remain Sphere workflows. Generated scripts still need gameplay testing on the chosen server.

v0.27.0

Creature behaviour and abilities

Added

  • Eight editable creature presets in Monster and Mount imports.
  • Configure damage, skills, resistances, normal spells, healing, taming, follower slots and food.
  • Add abilities with a trigger, percentage chance, cooldown, health threshold and range: spell effects, self-healing, custom attack visuals, sound, temporary summons or a compatible Sphere function.
  • Configure summoned creatures, quantity, living limit and lifetime, with cleanup when the summoner dies or is deleted.

Improved

  • Full generated-script review and an expanded creature-behaviour guide. Rideable objects retain their separate no-taming/no-feeding mode.

v0.26.0

Dungeons, caves and equipment bonuses

Added

  • Reserve a black off-world area for connected stone dungeons and natural caves.
  • Generate graded cave openings in the main map, paired interior locations and optional two-way Sphere entrance/return scripts.
  • Follow entrances and return locations in World Explorer.
  • Add weapon and armor stat bonuses or penalties, Luck, five resistances, combat modifiers, skill bonuses and percentage-based on-hit spells.
  • Copy a piece’s equipment effects to the rest of an armor set.

Improved

  • Real terrain elevation, slightly uneven ground and bounded slopes remain consistent between the explorer and exported map. Sea water stays at height zero.
  • Guide expanded to cover underground areas, sound replacement and equipment effects.

Generated maps are separate exports. Regions, spawns, loot and server activation remain separate work; Test Scene does not execute combat scripts.

v0.25.1Development release

World Explorer and current sound links

Added

  • Open the generated world in a separate, resizable explorer window.
  • Pan by dragging or using the keyboard, zoom with the mouse wheel, navigate with the minimap and jump to volcanoes, lakes and clearings.
  • See and listen to sounds already associated with an asset, including resolved creature inheritance.

Improved

  • Replace a selected sound link without adding a second command. A newly imported sound can keep the old shared audio available to other assets.
  • Scenery and grid switches help inspect terrain; the explorer draws nearby tiles as you travel.
v0.25.0Development release

World Generator

Added

  • Generate seeded continents, islands and archipelagos with deserts, icy regions, rivers, lakes, mountains, paths, trees and foliage.
  • Add volcanic cones and craters, adjust tree size/density and foliage, and paint biome regions.
  • Save generation settings, inspect native terrain previews and export a separate map set with overview, heightmap and checksums.

Improved

  • Terrain limits constrain elevation and neighbouring height differences; coastlines and biome boundaries blend through native transition artwork.
  • Water remains level, and trees avoid paths and restricted ground.

Fixed

  • Corrected map UOP output to use directly readable terrain chunks and the proper internal names for alternate map files.
v0.24.2Development release

Workspace sounds and MUL to UOP

Added

  • Attach sound directly from the visible Sound in UO panel above the Workspace preview.
  • Convert supported MUL art, gumps, sounds and terrain maps to UOP, alongside the existing UOP-to-MUL direction.
  • Convert High Seas multis with their matching housing and component companion files.

Improved

  • Sound attachment follows the asset shown in Workspace, independently of another open script.
  • Converters verify output in a new folder and preserve source files. Animations and separate metadata are outside this conversion workflow.
v0.24.1Development release

Sound attachments and checks before saving

Added

  • Attach an existing client sound or ready-made PCM WAV from a definition’s context menu or the Sound workshop.
  • Choose creature idle/notice/hit/hurt/death, item use/equip/unequip or supported function sound links, then listen and review.

Improved

  • Check destinations, relevant client archives and write access before creating backups or staging a save; check again before replacement.
  • Apply destination checks to direct script saves and backup restoration.
  • Save new sound data and its script link together while retaining existing script conditions and inheritance.
v0.24.0Development release

House Builder refinements and complete guide

Added

  • Automatic house-project recovery, Save project as and links to earlier compiled houses.
  • Material palettes, favourites, recent pieces, readable tile names, Line and Perimeter tools, placement previews, floor-height presets and editable selection properties.
  • Walk testing with keyboard or click-to-walk, stairs and nearby door interaction; checks for low headroom, unreachable floors and enclosed floor gaps.
  • The first comprehensive distribution guide, covering the complete application.

Improved

  • Saving or queueing a compiled house leaves its editable project open.
  • Compiled projects remember their house ID and script, allowing reviewed updates to the same house with changed-destination checks.

Fixed

  • Invalid house projects now report an error without replacing the current design.

Already placed houses retain their saved structure. Redeed and place a fresh house to apply structural changes.

v0.23.0Development release

House Builder and generated housing deeds

Added

  • Build with native floors, walls, roofs and decorations in an isometric editor.
  • Paint, rectangle, erase, select, copy/paste, move, adjust heights, undo/redo and toggle roof visibility.
  • Save editable house projects and exchange unhued CentrED CSV blueprints.
  • Compile a fixed native multi with its Sphere house/deed script through one reviewed save, supporting MUL and UOP multi files.
v0.22.3Development release

More equipment space and permission verification

Added

  • Opt-in Expand equipment capacity if needed in Armor set and Equipped appearance.
  • Extend the primary animation index with blank records for otherwise unused equipment IDs up to 2047 when existing capacity is exhausted.

Improved

  • Show expansion in the save review and retain original index length for recovery; existing animation mappings and paperdolls remain protected.

Fixed

  • Verify and restore the original Windows access rules after replacement, including older permission descriptors. This strengthens the permission-preservation fix from 0.22.1.
v0.22.2Development release

Import a whole armor set from a folder

Added

  • Open a set or collection folder and add every piece’s icon, VD and male/female paperdolls together.
  • Load all four files for an individual piece from its folder.
  • Recognise supported collection manifests and named piece subfolders.

Improved

  • Suggest free destination IDs while excluding queued pieces. Package reference IDs are not treated as installation destinations.
  • Keep every piece editable before the combined save review.
v0.22.1Development release

Preserve Windows file permissions

Fixed

  • Addressed client saves carrying temporary-file permissions onto the destination and losing normal folder inheritance.
  • Preserve existing access permissions through reviewed saves, script editing and recovery; record permissions for files that may need recreation.

Version 0.22.3 adds further verification for older Windows permission descriptors. The current installer includes both changes.

v0.22.0Development release

Complete armor-set imports

Added

  • Build a complete set from independently wearable pieces, each with its own inventory icon, animation and male/female paperdolls.
  • Allocate destinations and generate matching scripts under scripts/armor.
  • Review and save the whole set in one recoverable operation.

Improved

  • Check duplicate layers, IDs and identifiers, and exclude earlier pieces from automatic slot suggestions.

Each piece still needs its own artwork and equipped appearance. A single whole-suit VD cannot be split automatically into independent pieces.

v0.21.8Development release

Organised script folders

Improved

  • Place new generated scripts into relevant folders for monsters, mounts, items, clothing, weapons, effects and assets.
  • Register new resource paths when needed, while preserving existing script locations.

  • Open the selected asset directly in the scene without entering its ID again.
v0.21.3Development release

Place items without replacing the character

Added

  • Place selected items as separate scene props.
  • Room walls cover both back edges, with extra test walls for checking movement and overlap.

Fixed

  • Selecting and placing an item in Test Scene no longer needs to turn the character into that item.
v0.21.2Development release

Scene walls and walking directions

Fixed

  • Corrected the Test Scene wall presentation.
  • Aligned character facing with the direction of travel in the isometric scene.
v0.21.1Development release

  • Show controls relevant to the selected asset kind and make scene setup easier to navigate.
v0.21.0Development release

  • Try eight directions, actions, playback speed, frame stepping, hue, lighting and zoom.
  • Move locally, test wall collision, place props, change floors/walls and export PNG snapshots.
  • Preview queued changes or external VD, PNG and GIF files before importing them.

A visual sandbox inside Studio; it does not run a server, execute gameplay scripts or write scene changes to game files.

v0.20.2Development release

Custom mounts, layout and removal fixes

Added

  • Import compatible 35-action custom mount VDs with the required mounted and unmounted poses.
  • Choose Rideable object for inventory-activated mounts without animal taming or feeding.
  • Review removal of a definition, its linked assets, or a wider animation-related group, while checking external references.

Improved

  • The installer detects an existing installation, reuses its folder and supports same-version repair.
  • Keep all three main panes usable at startup and save-review actions accessible when the details area needs scrolling.

Fixed

  • Read and preserve legacy script bytes that previously caused charmap decoding errors.
  • Distinguish item and creature references with the same numeric ID, reducing false removal blockers.
  • Clean up eligible empty .scp files and their exact resource registrations after removal; refresh the script directory.
  • Handle mount remnants from earlier partial removals, including linked figurine aliases, while retaining shared or externally referenced content.

Several follow-up builds kept the 0.20.2 version number. Their verified changes are collected here; unrelated references still require review.

v0.20.1Development release

Create mount icons from animation poses

Added

  • Choose an action, direction and frame from the mount animation as its shrink icon.
  • Trim transparent edges, mirror the pose and choose its maximum size without exporting an intermediate PNG.

Improved

  • Save the new icon, TileData and Sphere ICON link together in a separate free item slot.
  • Clear an old pose selection when switching to another VD.
v0.20.0Development release

Connected Workspace and workshops

Added

  • Connected Workspace and Studio tools for animation editing, layered previews, sounds, a visual Sphere gump designer and multiple script tabs.
  • Save/session recovery, project comparison, test copies, favourites and portable content packs.

Added

  • Bulk-export item artwork and animation frames to organised PNG folders with progress, cancellation and frame-alignment metadata.
  • Export complete MUL animation bodies as individual VD files.
  • Right-click item or gump previews to replace their artwork through the existing save review.

Modern UOP body animations export to PNG; their VD mapping is not guessed.

v0.18.1Development release

Save verification and file checks

Added

  • Check game files to inspect structure and identify mismatched editor/server UO folders without changing files.

Improved

  • Verify complete fixed-record copies, protect retained backups from overwriting later edits and improve preview-worker cleanup.

Fixed

  • Corrected quoted comments in equipconv.def, decimal Sphere item IDs, equipment gump reservations and mixed binary-preview folders.
v0.18Development release

Automatic free-space placement

Added

  • Automatically suggest compatible free destinations for item/effect frames, gumps, creature animations, mounts and equipment bundles.

Improved

  • Review the selected range, switch to manual IDs or find another free space, and recheck destinations before saving.
  • Require a complete compatible block instead of splitting an import or silently overwriting content.
v0.17Development release

Clothing and weapon imports

Added

  • Import clothing and weapons with inventory icons, TileData layers, equipped animation and male/female paperdolls.
  • Reuse an existing equipped appearance or import a compatible 35-action equipment VD.
  • Choose weapon families and edit combat properties, clothing layers, dyeability and armor values.

Shard profiles and installer builds

Added

  • Named shard profiles with create, rename, copy, remove and switch actions.

Added

  • Choose an existing icon with search and thumbnails, or import a PNG/BMP into a free item slot.
  • Generate the Sphere icon/figurine links and save them with the mount and riding memory.
